A 28-day snapshot of earnings from both platforms left me surprised.
It has officially been over a month since I had my faceless YouTube channel approved for their Partner Program. I didn’t know what to expect because I’ve heard stories about it being “easy” to make money on the platform. Being accepted into the program is just one hurdle. Making money is another. Do not let anyone fool you into thinking it is a piece of cake to start or maintain a faceless channel, especially if you are a beginner. If people do not show you their stats, they have simply used SEO to create content people are searching for without having much experience with it. I’m not going to lie: they will give you the motivation to start but know this: it takes effort.
Let’s get to the heart of the content!
My earnings over the past month on Youtube.
I was monetised on July 28th, and I earned $4.04 for 4 weeks.
My earnings over the past month on Medium.
When I wrote about my experience on YouTube on Medium, merely to help others on a similar journey, something happened: I began to make money here.
I don’t have a strategy for Medium or have ever looked at how to create content to earn from it because it wasn’t something I had planned to do. I entered the Partner Program years ago, but with a full-time job, I didn’t find enough time to write. (I now work part-time and can dedicate an hour or two to my writing.)
For 28 days on both platforms, I earned $4.04 on YouTube and around $27 on Medium.
I believe I am earning more on Medium because I am writing about content people search for to earn income, and the topic of a faceless channel is falls within this. The topic of passive income has been slowly growing, and ever since the pandemic, people have been looking further into online ideas.
